Dumber than a box of rocks

Yep, that is me...the dumbest one to have ever posted on RTVW EVER! I mean, WTF was I thinking...I wasn't.

Webby emailed me last week wanting to know if I had found a tag team partner for summary writing for The Real World. This isn't anything new as I have tag teamed the summaries for like the past 3-4 seasons. Webby has used me as the point of contact because I think he knows I am trust worthy. Well, I posted a message on the forum looking for someone interested in writing a couple of summaries every now and then.

A week later and no one responded to the thread so Webby emailed me again to see what I had in mind. What did I do? I volunteered to write every freakin summary for the upcoming season! Granite, I have written dozens of these before and it really doesn't take long to write a summary for a 30 minute show but would someone please have my temperature taken.

WTF was I thinkin?

Actually, I am not worried about writing the summaries but a few of at least make me feel good and read them every now and then...UMKAY?

Are you hooked on something?

Carey’s post reminded me of something I have been meaning to bring up a few times now and keep forgetting. Do you all have things that you are addicted to? I guess we all do but do we realize that we really do HAVE to have these things?

While I was unemployed and cooking to make my living I had bad habits. I stayed up late, played online (places I shouldn’t have been) and drank too much. However, those things went by the wayside when I started the job (I know some of you are tired of hearing about my new job so this is about something else!) and new things emerged. Well, actually some things were there but I didn’t realize just how much I relied on doing them every single day. Something I have found that really helps ease the day is the Sudoku puzzles that appear in the paper daily.

I share an office with a guy that is about my age and we found out on the second day of work that we both enjoy doing the puzzle. Now? We race during lunch to see who will finish the puzzle first. I came home last night and downloaded a puzzle from the Web site and did it while watching The Gauntlet and The Olympics. Do you all like the Sudoku puzzles?

Well, I would like to hear about the things you guys do every single day and enjoy doing it. Also, tomorrow or when I don’t have anything to say, I will tell you the story about my soon to be next-husband!

Getting used to it

I think I am getting the hang of the new job enough to where I am not falling asleep at my desk around 3pm in the afternoon. I have not taken the new diet pills at work yet in fear that I will scare the carp out of ‘em when I start bouncing off the walls. I may do this tomorrow though because I do get really tired by mid-afternoon.

I forgot to mention my summary of last week’s The Bachelor over to the other place. If you get a chance go over and read it and tell me how bad it is. I got a response to remind me that The Bachelor is on ABC and not NBC…I prolly won’t change it. Do I care?

I am going to venturing out to other blogs the rest of the night between doing laundry and catching up on the Olympics.

{{{HIGS}}} everyone. Also, if you are bored around 10pm tonight you might like to visit Sonya and I over on the Real World forums!

Honey Bun

k folks…time to share! My new work mates will be very surprised tomorrow as I am going to surprise them with a cake to nibble on all day. Most of the peeps eat in almost everyday or at least walk down the street and bring it back to eat in the break room. Almost none of them eat breakfast but I am going to make this:

CAKE:
1 yellow cake mix
4 eggs
¾ cup oil
8 oz sour cream
½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
Cinnamon to taste

GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners sugar
3 tablespoons milk

Mix together first 4 ingredients until creamy. Pour half the mixture into greased and floured 9X13 inch cake pan. Separately mix together brown sugar and cinnamon to taste. Sprinkle over cake batter in pan. Cover with remaining half of cake batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes. When you remove from oven use toothpick to poke several small holes in cake. Pour glaze over top while still warm.

Taste just like a huge honey bun!

Beaten, battered and bruised...

One hella day at the office dudes and dudettes! I am mentally and physically exhausted tonight. I got about 5 hours sleep last night and felt much better starting the day off today than I did yesterday but by 5pm I was drag assing!

I think I am going to go back to my colas to get my boost. I had dropped the colas for a diet but with the lack of sleep I am going back to pushing tomorrow. I will wired for sound!

I have to say that even though I am tired...it is a good tired! My brain is being challenged in ways it hasn't been in months. Now, If I can just convert that to sales!

GO LADY VOLS BEAT GEORGIA...oh wait...they did!

A few thougts...

I hadn’t said anything about something that has been driving me nuts (not Nutz) because I have never had a problem like this before. Saturday, I lay around the house and enjoyed basketball games while it snowed outside. I didn’t sleep well that night but I thought it was because of the fact I didn’t really get off the sofa much all day. Monday night rolls around and I get about 4.5 hours of sleep (not bad but considering I got less sleep the night before I was dragging by Monday afternoon). Tuesday was my class and I was on the go until around 3pm and once I slowed down I got tired but put off going to rest on the sofa until time for bed. I had decided to wait and go to bed when I was really really sleepy…the late news came on AFTER the Olympics went off at 11:30pm before I knew what time it was and I was still WIDE awake. I finally fell asleep for good around 4:15 this morning and was suppose to get up at 6am but I slept in till 6:30am!

So, since Saturday night I may have gotten around 8 hours of sleep total! At work today, I was dragging BIG time around 3-4pm…I got a Coca Cola for some caffeine and that helped until I left around 5:30pm. If I don’t get better sleep tonight I will be a zombie (and not in the good way) tomorrow. Any suggestions?

Also, I have said much but the company I work for sales hospital supplies and services to hospital, walk-in clinics and physicians offices. I have cover 5 states and was wondering if anyone in these states works for or know someone that works in these fields…Wisconsin (Weltek, Nolay, Dragonflies)??? Oklahoma, Indiana, Nevada or Washington (Cyndiamaus or Jimbo)? I am not looking for anyone to actually give me business more than I am looking for someone that could say, “hey…listen to what this guy is pushing”. Hey…it never hurts to ask!

I am off to other blogs and don’t know if I will make it to OT tonight but if these states ring a bell with someone you chat with over there please tell them to drop me a red wavy flagy thingy if they can help.

Also, happy hump day everyone!

BTW: Kahlua waited until the wee hours of VD to give me my present…around 2:17am (but who looked at the clock) Kahlua thought it was very urgent to leap from the center of the bed (barking as loud as she could while in mid-air) and practically bounce off the window a good 3 feet away. She continued to bark (the GET.OUT.OF.MY.DAMN.YARD bark!) so I got up and open the blinds. We were greeted with a really cute beige cat sitting looking at us about 3 feet away! After my heart dropped back into my chest from my throat I opened the door and made the cat go away. Kahlua stood guard another 45 mins just to make sure I was safe from said cat!

Whew...

First lemme say Happy VD everyone!

The class is over and I am glad to have that behind. Out of the 10 that took the class 8 of them said I exceeded expectations and the other said I met expectations. I am very pleased with that because not everyone was in the class for the same thing.

Next up, I am off to the grocery store to get stuff for lunch the rest of the week. Then, I will be back here studying my training manual for my new job I start tomorrow.

*HUGS*

The job interviewing process

I started the year off by being more determined to find a job and set-up numerous interviews. Some were with companies I was very interested in and others were just to get experience in the interview process.

As mentioned below, I was offered a sales position at a company that I just felt at home (while interviewing)with. The people were very friendly and it just seemed like a really good fit. Even though I accepted the position I didn’t cancel any interview that I already had scheduled. I wanted to give all the places opportunities and to let me see what else is out there.

I had an interview yesterday with a company that I was very interested in because it was a tech company and they deal with the healthcare industry (this is where I have my over 15 years of experience). I thought the interview went well and meeting the VP and the head of HR was a very positive experience. However, red flags started flying once I started putting pieces together of how they are going about the interview process.

The company I used to work for has had two mass lay-offs over the last couple of years. Most all of my contacts at that place got the boot just before Thanksgiving. These peeps are considered friends of mine and we keep in touch on a daily basis (these are my lunch buddies). One of the guys that got the boot back in November interviewed for the same position as I did but his meeting was two weeks ago.

During the interview yesterday the VP told me that he had interviews scheduled for two more weeks and it could be another two to three weeks before I hear back from them if I make the next round of interviews. They are interviewing for one position and I am aware of 5 (including myself) people that have already met.

I am very cautious about wanting to advance to another interview because I am very weary of how they are approaching this position. The position is for a product manager for their most popular product and I understand they want to get the perfect fit. However, I have two reservations:

1) Has HR been given enough information to eliminate the people that are not qualified for the position? There is no reason to have a 4-week interviewing process for a position that isn’t considered an upper level management position. IMHO

2) Is upper level management too controlling and not allowing others to do their job? This is where I think the problem is and tells me that even if I am offered a second interview I may decline. There is no way I want management being so controlling that I have to look over my back at all times wondering if I am doing what they would want me to do.

What do you think? Should I entertain the possibility of a second interview or just move on?

I had a peep meet last night!

I met with Chuck last night at a local sports bar. We had a good time even though the snow was threatening to cut short the meeting. We had a few beers and shared a red headed slut so things were good! Thanks for everything Chuck!

Anywho, just wanted to say that I had a great time and look forward to having drinks with Chuck in the future! It was great meeting him and just chatting about blogs and the ones we like to visit…I hope to keep in touch with Chuck and look forward to meeting other blog buddies!

Have you all had any blog meets?

Simmering on RTVW

I am really urinated off and it just keeps simmering! The other place has gotten my goat this time.

I have batts’ username on MSN Messenger and we keep in touch by chatting about once a week. * shout out to batts * I know he lurks here! So, Friday night we were chatting and I started talking about the upcoming season of TAR. Batts said he would watch and was looking forward to it.

Saturday morning I get up and start checking all my emails and red wavy flag thingies to find that batts had sent me a flaggy. Batts told me there was a thresd about the upcoming participants and someone had posted a pic of a couple and mentioned me in the text. The poster wanted my input.

I scurried off to the TAR forums all excited about the thresd because I hadn’t been to them since last season. So, as I am reading the thresd I come across a post by someone that reads, “I think, despite their queer-looking team photos, that Eric and Jeremy are alpha males.”

Well, how the fuck does one manage to “look” queer? Seriously, I didn’t see the “666” tattooed on their forehead nor were they wearing shirts that read, “FAG”! Also, I don’t know how anyone can tell just by looks if someone is an alpha male.

So, I alerted the thresd to say that I was offended that one would use those words to describe others. There have been no responses directly to me to explain the usage of the words nor has anything been done to that thresd. The person that posted those words has answered other posts but refuses to give me a response where I questioned what was meant by “queer-looking”.

URGH! Saddens me while also making me so mad I want scratch out someone’s eyes.

I got the job!

I found out late Friday that I got the job! I start the new position next Wednesday and will enter a 2-week training session. I guess my time around RTVW and here will be limited at best for at least those two weeks. I will have to update and post on RTVW after hours…that isn’t a bad thing I guess but will take time away from my norm.

I posted a message over that the other place but also wanted to share it here because I feel this is more personal than the open forum there. Just wanted to keep you guys updated!

Flustrated

A combination of frustrated and flustered is how I feel today. I may have gotten an hour and half of sleep last night and not to mention I had an interview today that lasted as long!

Yesterday, the VP of sales for the company I have been interviewing called to say that I had not met with the co-owners and he wanted me to interview with them. Supposedly, I was going to meet with them Monday after my interview but both got called away while I was there and the two want to be part of the decision.

So...I am in another holding pattern until Monday! URGH! THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

BTW. I haven't received any of the trivia stuff. Am I suppose to assume the questions were too tough? Do I need to give hints?

Overdue smut

Isn't number 1 just yummy? What do you think?

Suntrust will be losing a customer soon (I hope)

I am so upset I could bite a nail. I gots to vent here:

[rant] Back in the mid-90’s I was dating a guy that worked at Suntrust bank and he talked me into moving my banking accounts to them. As a result (of the dating), I refinanced my house through Suntrust as well. In 1999, I had some things that had to be upgraded and fixed around the house so I took out an equity line of credit with them as well.

Just to fill you in on some things, I have a friend in the lending industry and he runs my credit at least once a year and it is excellent. I have never been late on any major payment of any kind since I bought my house (1992). All of my house payments and equity payments are paid online and usually paid a day or two in advance to the due date…not the “pay this amount after” date. BEFORE THE DUE DATE!

Well, I had paid the equity line down to a very small amount and over the summer again thought I would take from the equity line to pay off bills that had higher interest rates and just do things around the house. I didn’t max it out but it was close. We are talking less that $10,000 total. Since then, the amount of the loan payment is about $105 a month more than it was previously.

So, I pay all of my bills online that will allow me to pay and the equity line is one of those accounts. Keep in mind…this is a Suntrust loan using Suntrust as a bank account that is paying off the loan. My payment was due on January 18th…14 days ago. I didn’t update the loan amount (it just slipped my mind) in my online banking account so Suntrust was short paid by $105.

As you all know my uncle died last Friday and I was pretty much consumed with that over the weekend. However, I noticed that I had received numerous calls from an 804 area code on Saturday that matched a couple of calls that I had received last Wednesday and Thursday (6-7 days after the bill was short paid). I was just getting out of the shower this morning and the same number appeared on my caller ID so I answered.

The man on the other end of the line was a representative from Suntrust that demanded to know when I was going to make a payment and for how much. This hit me so hard that I started shaking I was so upset…I could understand if they had not been paid anything or if I had been a bad customer. Furthermore, there is enough money in my checking account to pay off the entire line of credit! But yet, it was important for them to demand a payment immediately. I would hate to be a bad customer for them. I still don’t understand why they didn’t approach me with saying they were going to remove the dollar amount from my checking account if they didn’t get a payment by a certain date. The man demanded an amount again and I hung up on him!

Needless to say, once I find a new job and get my finances flowing at a better rate Suntrust will no longer be my banking company! [/rant]
