I don't like the domino affect...

When it comes to housework…I hate the domino affect! Oh, you know what I am talking about, the one thing that leads to another. Well, today has been just that for me and I am tired of it all.

I blame my two best friends for this unfortunate event! Last night, my two best friends called to say they were on their way to a bar to get some drinks and wanted to know if I would come visit with them. I refused at first but then I found out they were coming to a bar that isn’t even a half-mile from my house. I could walk home if I had to but that wouldn’t be necessary as I only had a few drinks in like 3 hours. I had a good buzz but nothing major as I came home and slept like a baby!

I get up this morning not with a hangover but dehydrated from hell! So, while making breakfast I drink like a half gallon of water and after eating feel fairly well…all things considered.

I was going to spend most of the day just hanging out and rejuvenating myself from a long week of work. Around 11am I am lying on the sofa watching Paula Dean on The Food Network when I get an idea that I will have a Bloody Mary as I have everything on hand to make it.

I get up to go make the drink and open the refrigerator door to get the Spicy V8 juice out and Kahlua (my dog) had snuck up behind me and trips me as I am stepping away from the refrigerator. However, the V8 bottle lid is the only thing that made it out of the refrigerator with my hand. The first thing I think of is to save enough of the V8 to make my drink and I grab the bottle with plenty left. I didn’t notice at the time of the mess the tomato juice had made all over the inside of my refrigerator.

After making the drink I knew I had to clean up the mess. A mess that had me take EVERYTHING out of the refrigerator and wipe it down (tomato juice everywhere) and clean the insides of the entire refrigerator. URGH! The only good thing is that I found only one thing molded…a half pack of pepperoni that had fallen out of the crisper drawer and couldn’t be seen until the drawer was removed.

A couple of hours later with a second Bloody Mary caused me to take a little nap before a late lunch. Now? I am restless. I think I will go to the grocery store.

I don't like the bitch

This weekend, I had some time to get caught up on a lot of my television viewing including the news. I try to watch many different channels to get a more overall view of how things are going in the world around us. Saturday night I came across something that made me almost hurl as I witnessed one of the worst host on televisions (including most reality shows)!

I was flipping channels and ran across Nancy Fucking Grace. I have no idea who she slept with in order to get a show…hell; maybe she just swallowed but PAHLEASE!

Does anyone REALLY like her?

I was tagged by Puffy!

*smooch*

Here are the rules:

1. Reveal six weird facts/things/habits about yourself and then tag six people.
2. Leave a "You're Tagged!" comment to let the people you have tagged know they have to reveal six things (or the entire blogosphere will explode and it will be their fault).
3. Leave a comment HERE to let me know when you have completed your mission.

MISSION:

* I love food of any kind EXCEPT beets and a couple of things I have never tried...I am sure.

* I have had sex on a pool table in the middle of a bar in New Orleans (on Bourbon Street non-the-less). I don't think the pictures have surfaced on the interenet...YET!

* Because I worked from home for over two years, I have become known as the neighborhood watch person. Now that I have an office job people are not used to not having me to rely on!

* My UPS deliveryman has been known to stop and chat just because he wanted to. And yes...he is very good looking!

* I am going by my real name at work and not the nickname that I have been known for over 38 years AND I don't think I will let my work peeps know of the nickname anytime soon.

* I am with HD in that I like me some ambiguously gay frat boys. *wink wink*

I am tagging HD, UKRocks, LRTony, MTW, Nookie and Sonya.

Bitch Session Anyone?

First off…Easter Sunday! I went to my parents where the whole family gathered for lunch. My sister had picked up a honey-baked ham so all I had to do was cook the vegetables. I had green beans, cream style corn and wilted spinach (just wilted it in skillet with EVOO, garlic and added parm cheese when I plated it). I also made 3 loaves of sour dough bread that turned out scrumptous. Mom had an apple pie and we put ice cream on top for dessert.

There was one loaf of bread leftover and my sister and I made hoe made croutons with it. I melted butter and infused garlic and onion to give it a very nice taste. We brushed the bread with the butter and baked until crispy. YUMMY! I have been eating on them for two days now. Anyone want some?

Work? Is busy as ever. We have a new receptionist and what can I say but she is an idiot. The woman is the biggest tool (or waste of air depending on your view point) I have ever seen.

EXAMPLE #1:

Today, I was at the fax machine that is beside her desk in the reception area. The phone rings and at the top of her lungs she screams, “SOMEBODY GET THAT!” Needless to say, no one answered and after three rings she had to stoop so low as to answer it…even though that is her job!

EXAMPLE #2:

I had a customer that had ordered a microscope from us and I filled out all the paperwork that would allow our distributor to ship the product to its final destination. The paperwork (which is a digital order form which she prints off and fills out the actual paperwork that goes on the boxes…I think she prints them off the computer but we do not have access to it) I filled out made it very clear that the customer was paying for UPS GROUND shipping. The next afternoon I was greeted with an irate customer that had been billed $595 for NEXT DAY AIR shipping!

The bill was retrieved and she had filled out an AIR BILL that didn’t even have “GROUND” as an option.

Television? Nutz and I are keeping the TAR and Apprentice going with Estee. Sometimes I think we are the only three actually watching. What are you watching?

Also, Congrats to JIMBO on his new addition!

Time for an update

The family reunion went off without a hitch and we had great weather! The weather was in the lower 70s with sunny skies. My family from New York had a blast and plan on coming back in the summer. I am looking forward to visiting them sometime soon as well.

I had totally forgotten my commitment to the other place and the Survivor summary for last week’s episode. I thought about it Monday night and had to do a quick and short version to the summary. It was posted last night.

The Real World summary will be up tomorrow night sometime. I have a lawn to mow once I get off work tomorrow and then write the summary. I would write it tonight but I have TAR at 8pm, Lost at 9pm and then I will not be fit for a summary.

Off Topic is still off limits for posting for me right now and so glad. The grammar police was out last night in full force and I almost lost my will to hold back. I almost posted a smartass remark that would have prolly gotten me banned.

So, how things going in your life?

Big hail is hell

Last night? I got skeered! I don’t if you guys heard of the strong storms that passed through Tennessee yesterday but we got hammered for the second time in 5 days.

Middle Tennessee had tornados that touched down and caused more than 10 deaths. However, here in East Tennessee we saw strong storms produce hail the size of softballs! Seriously, have any of you ever seen softballs falling from the sky? The hail caused many injuries and car problems.

One of the local news stations has been asking for people to send in pictures of the hail and storm damage. The pictures are truly amazing. I have never seen hail the size of some of the stuff they are showing. I will post pics if the station puts them on their Web site.

Also, I have family in from New York this weekend! Some of may remember me telling the story of how my dad and his cousin got separated when they were 8 years old. Then, after 62 years of not having any contact they were reunited last year…well both families are getting together this weekend to greet and meet. I have been chatting with these peeps online for over 8 months and am looking forward to meeting them all!

Have a good one!

Do these guys look familar?

Well well kiddos...WTF is goin on here? Rumor has it the pic was taken during a premiere party.

No...this isn't a picture post but thanks for asking

Sorry for not updating but I have waited all week for Nookie to send me the pic of our meeting last weekend. I guess her and Mr. Nookie haven’t figured out how to get the digital picture developed yet!

Anyways, this week has been just a regular ole day for my family and me! However, I did go shopping today and mom and dad bought me three serving plates! SCORE! Two of the plates are the neatest things as they are tear drop shaped and will nestle together with each other on the table. The most important part is that they were only $3.99 each and they can be used in the oven. I can’t wait to have company over so I can use them.

I am still avoiding the other place and I must say that I am enjoying it very nicely to be honest. I miss some of the peeps and the interaction but nothing I can’t get elsewhere. I do check in from time to time just to make sure nothing major has happened.

I didn’t have to write the summary for The Real World this week as batts gave me a much needed rest. THANK GAWD! Actually, this season has turned out to be a much better season than the last 3 or 4 combined. This group is actually fairly grown-up and understands the whole “we have to work for a living” thing that the others had no clue about. I am still waiting for the hotties from Key West to show up but nothing as of yet.

Anything going on in your world that I need to know about?
