Weighing-in

This guy makes me laugh. Jeff Corwin from Animal Planet is a little cutie but more importantly he has a sense of humor I get. I always like to watch his show when I can.

I went out running around this morning. My mom had a doctor's appointment and she wanted me to go with her and then we went in search of the perfect Christmas tin to put gingerbread cookies in. She is making the cookies to send my newly found cousins in New York. We found the perfect tins at Carolina Pottery and then we had lunch.

For lunch, I had a Mexican with a really hottie for a server...I tipped him well ;-)

The rest of the afternoon I am going to be pulling up all the flowers that the frost has killed and get my flower beds ready for winter. I am only able to have one free had as most of my aches and pains have gone away but now I can't remove a kleenex from under my nose (it is running constantly). I have taken some medication so if I pass out at least my neighbors will be home from work soon.

My first real rant

Well, I guess I jumped the gun on feeling better yesterday, as today I haven’t been off the couch. I think I may be flirting with the flu because I have been hurting all over today and don’t have any symptoms of a cold (sneezing, runny nose and/or coughing). However, lying on the couch brings up today’s rant.

Years ago when Jerry Springer came on late night TV, I would watch just to see which guy had just slept with a tranny and didn’t know it was a guy. It was a good laugh and I always thought the show was staged. Has anyone watched lately? I was flipping channels while trying to go into my Nyquil induced coma and came across the show this morning. I was going to see if it was like it used to be…it isn’t. This is such a horrible horrible show! Today’s show title? I slept with your son and husband too! The show had more bleeps than words and the fighting was continuous…as in they never sat in chairs like they used to and the fist fighting was encouraged. The audience encouraged the good-looking chicks to flash their tits in which they did and there is also a stripper pole on stage. The audience encouraged a girl to dance around it at one point. It was the most pathetic thing I think I have ever witnessed.

During the same time I flipped over to Maury and he had a paternity test show with young women trying to determine who the father of their children are. I have two things to ask. How many men have these young women slept with to not know who the father of their children is? Does Maury ever have a show that isn’t a paternity test show?

Why are these shows on the air and who is watching to make sure they stay on our airwaves? And some people from that other place say gays are destroying the sanctity of marriage…boggle! Have any of them watched these shows?

What do you think?

63? Whatever happened to 69?

Finally getting back in the saddle

I did a google search on Josh and look what I found...evidently the men of Lost are fairly close!

I think I am beginning to feel a little better other than having a cold and feeling yucky...I feel better this afternoon than yesterday and this morning. I am going to be doing some computer stuff this afternoon and I may post some more man candy.

Happy Monday!

I am not feeling much better this morning. I think I am getting a chest cold and just feeling droopy. I hope to get back up and running fairly quickly. As it is raining today, I may not get off the couch at all...

I am not feeling well

Sorry for no updates this morning but I am not feeling well. My throat feels like sandpaper as I try to swallow and I have been on the couch sleeping all morning. I hope everyone has a great Sunday and I will try to make a post this afternoon.

More man candy

Hope one of these hit the spot!

These two are living together?

Not insinuating anything here...but I do find it very strange that Nick Lachey has moved in with Matt Leinhart (the senior QB for USC Trojans). Of course, Matt is on the right in the second picture and not the boob of the left. But why would someone that is old as Nick with a somewhat career live with a college senior.

I am sorry but this is just strange. Why? But to be a fly on the wall in that apartment!

Today's man candy

I don't think I have mentioned that I really like tats but I had to include pic #2. Pic #3 is of a porn star that has never really ventured away from his original look and hairy chest. Just thought I would share!

Black Friday

Who is participating in the busiest shopping day of the year? I can’t bring myself to it. I went shopping last night with my family and I got my feel for anything holiday related for a while.

Did anyone get up at the awful hour of 5am to go shopping? I can’t imagine…

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am on my way out the door to my parent's house and wanted to say happy turkey day to all!

The mad house some people call a grocery store

I just thought of something I wanted to cook for tomorrow so I thought I would go get the stuff to make it. I went to the grocery store where there were hardly any parking spaces but I finally found one far from the door.

I went into said grocery store and found the isles full of families (like 3 and 4 people per cart) and could hardly make it through. I had to get three things and knew exactly where they were. I went to the speedy checkout lane where the guy at the register was wearing the tightest pants I think I have seen a man wear in years.

As he was ringing the things up I looked down just as he looked at me. I was caught looking at this guys crotch! He looked at me and smiled...I may have to visit more often!

Zak or Tom

Hey HD...which one?

Pumpkin vs. peecan pie

Well, which one is your favorite? My family is split right down the middle. My mom and dad love pumpkin pie but my sister and her family are huge pumpkin pie eaters. I could care less…give me the bird!

So, place your vote now…pumpkin or peecan?

Funny but sad

I don't know how closely anyone follows college sports but my University of Tennessee football team has had a terrible season. Their first losing season since 1988 and their offense has been sickening.

One of the things the university does each year is they negotiate with a local grocery store to donate a turkey to the Second Harvest Food Bank (they help feed the homeless/needy) for every touchdown scored during the season. All SEVEN turkeys were delivered to the food bank yesterday.

Why bother? GEEESH! I think the university should foot the bill for more turkeys. They have a budget of only 53 million dollars for next year.

Movies I want to see

There are 4 movies I want to see in the very near future. Here is my list and why I want to see them:

Jarhead: Well, DUH! Jakey is just too damn dreamy. I have been researching the concept of the movie and I think it will be interesting to see.

Brokeback Mountain: Has anyone else heard of this one? I bet HD has. Here is the preview reel.com gives the movie:

Two cowboys/fishing buddies fall in love with each other in this 1950s romantic drama. As they live in an unenlightened age, they go their separate ways, marry women, and start having children. When they are reunited years later, they find that their love for each other has only grown stronger over time

Now for the clincher…guess who is playing the cowboys? Heath Ledger and Jakey! The movie is rated R due to sexual situations and nudity. These are major plusses for me!

The Dying Gaul: This one is about a playwright that is hired to write a script about his lover dying of AIDS. It is a drama and I think it will be interesting.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: All I have to say about this one is that Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr lock lips! Val plays a gay private detective and Robert plays a bad guy…should be good.
That’s my list for now…

My attempt at posting some eye candy

Here is a pic from the front if anyone needs it!

Well, HD does it all the time and I guess I need to start with one of my sports crushes. I was going to post this over at the other place but the pics were too big and I am sure someone would have had something to bitch about.

I will get into some of my more off the beaten path crushes later.

Finally got around to updating

I haven’t updated in a couple of days and I do apologize but there are reasons. Let’s see if anyone can guess the real reason from the list:

1) My football team lost to a team that they had beaten 22 years in a row.
2) HD has updated so much over the weekend that I have been to busy reading his posts.
3) I have spent too much time researching the man candy on HD’s site that I have had time to do anything else.
4) The weather has been so cold I have been able to type without wearing gloves.
5) I ate too many tamales over the weekend that I was too sick to post
6) I’ve been shacked up with a hottie that I picked up while out drinking Friday night.
7) All of the above.
8) None of the above.
9) Some combination of the list above.

Also, don’t you just love it when you make fun of someone at that other place and they have no idea it is directed at them?

BTW: Thanks for the help with pics HD as I will start posting some of the man candy I find attractive. This could be interesting...

Also, I will add HD to my links today as he has already outed me over on his blog.

Turkey day is only 5 days away!

As the holiday season approaches, I am always bummed by this time of year but I am trying to not be such a stooge. Thanksgiving is a better holiday for me than Christmas and I think that is just because I am an adult. With Thanksgiving around the corner I was thinking about how we approach this time of year and how others may do things differently.

For Thanksgiving I always go to my parents early as I normally cook most if not all the veggies that we will have and the home yeast rolls. My mom is responsible for the turkey and the dressing with my sister making dessert. We have the parades and stuff like that on in the background and then football after that. I normally spend most of the day with my family (I have a sister that is married and has 3 boys).

Does your turkey day differ than mine by a lot? Does your family stuff the bird or do you have dressing as a side? Does your family go eat Chinese on Thanksgiving (I have a friend that does this and they do it for Christmas as well).

Traveling For The Holidays

Traveling for Thanksgiving is something I have never had to do. I lived in South Carolina for 2 holiday seasons but it was just a 3-hour drive home and I was in sales so I always left earlier than everyone else. What type of challenges does everyone go through to get home for the holidays?

Are there peeps out there that will only travel home for one holiday because it is too long of a trip? I always find it interesting to hear travel stories of those that have to travel for the holidays and also what they have to go through with kids. Give me your stories…I want to hear them!

I'm surrounded with idiots

This time of year my mom and I get together and make tamales. We always make 5-6 dozen to freeze and eat throughout the winter. Today was the tamale-making day so I headed off to the grocery store to get the tamale papers.

I get to the store and find the papers fairly quickly so I go to the front of the store where I had anticipated on going through the self-checkout lane. There was someone in that lane and the lady over in customer service saw that I only had one item and said she could help me. I walk over and lay the papers on the counter and she looks at them and says, “Tamale papers…you gonna make tamales?” I went along with the stupidity but what else did she think I was going to do with tamale papers. I wanted to say “No, I am going to use them to wipe my butt the next time I take a dump!”
Idiots…idiots

I Want To Be A Scarecrow

One of our local television stations did a story on the theme park Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and the attractions for the fall. One of the major attractions is the scarecrows they have throughout the park. Dollywood trains people on how to attract people as well as scare them. The local news station sent two of their reporters to go through the training and spend a day in the park while hidden cameras caught their antics.

The local reporters started their day in make-up and looked similar to the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz. Then they stake out their territory in the park as they are instructed to stand perfectly still until someone shows interest in them. The reporters then proceeded to scare people in some way…jumping at them or screaming at them. People would jump and shout as they had no clue it was a real person.

I would love to do this! I absolutely take so much pride in my ability to scare the shit out of people (unlike some from that other place). Is this wicked of me? Should I strive to become a scarecrow?

The Real World Austin

{soap box}

Could someone please tell me why I ever got wrapped up in the whoreable show that is The Real World Austin. Not only that, I actually volunteered to write the summaries for that other place we go to. The show has digressed to a non-watchable place. All they do is go out get drunk, sleep, have sex and then start a new day. Oh and now they are getting thrown in jail. Three of the seven have now spent at least one night in a jail cell and one of them could be facing up to 4 years in jail. Tell me again why I got involved with this show?

{/soap box}

What will they do?

The company I worked for 2 years ago had massive lay-offs last week. Over 25% of the office staff was given their pink slips and this included most of the peeps I worked with/knew in the company. I am having lunch with many of the peeps today and we will be going to Pizza Hut (they call it the Pizza Slut) and I am sure we will spend a great deal of time just hoopin it up! Has anyone been in a similar situation? I don’t know what to say to these peeps as the holiday season is closing in and they have no job.

The people have varied backgrounds and experience so they really aren’t competing with each other for new jobs. The only problem is with finding the type of jobs they held and in this small town that may be a tall task. I just hope all of them find jobs and their families have a happy holiday season…even though I am a huge ba-hum-bug during this time of year!

I think I will just go and enjoy the food and not worry about anything else!

Things that make you go hmmmm...

I don't want all my post to be downers but I found out something today that has just amazed me and is sad too.

My uncle on my father's side of the family has been in the hospital for over a week with different types of problems (he is 83 years old and hasn't been in good health for a few years now). Last night my cousin called me to let me know that my uncle would be going through a procedure today to remove kidney stones. At first, I was thinking the traditional ways they are helped along to pass but she went on to tell me that it was going to be an operation. The doctor told the family that in his two kidneys he has a total of 6 stones and 4 of them are the size of GOLF BALLS! GOLF BALLS! The doctor said it was the largest stones he has ever seen.

I am still baffled by it all...hell can you imagine the incision size!

Today's drama

I am Volsfan as I am a huge University of Tennessee Volunteer fan. I live in Knoxville Tennessee where I have spent most of my 39 years. I am trying the blog thingy for the first time. Let's see how this works.

Today started as always but I had a car accident this afternoon. Kahlua (my dog) and I were at a stop sign and a car hydroplaned into the rear of my car. Dog, car and myself are ok just a little shaken up.
