Grocery shopping and getting urinated off at the Depot

Just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone! I have been fairly busy but had this weekend off from the Depot! WOO and HOO! Well, it turned out that I had the weekend off but I was so sick yesterday I didn’t make it off the couch. I chilled, coughed, wheezed and my head hurt almost all day. I started feeling better before going to bed last night and I have been ok today but really weak.

Something happened this week at the Depot that will cause me to be in a bad mood for the next couple of months. I closed on Sunday night and when I left there was a whole crew of people from the store set-up that was preparing the main line for a “make-over”. As I left I was wondering what was going there and knew I would find out the next day as I worked Monday as well.

I arrived at the Depot on Monday (Oct 16th.) and found exactly what everything had to be moved for…CHRISTMAS STUFF! Eight freakin weeks before Christmas and I have to be met with the damn stuff as soon as I walk in the door. Then, as I was walking through the store to clock in, I met a manager. I asked to please tell me that we would have at least 3-4 weeks or the week of Thanksgiving before the music starts. He said, “no such luck…you have two weeks”! So, the Depot is going to start playing Christmas music on Nov. 1st. I am sorry butt that is WAY to early to start with this carp.

I told my manager yesterday that the first time I hear Mariah Carey’s Christmas song I was walking out the front door. I.CAN’T.STAND.THAT.SONG! I don’t give a carp what she wants for Christmas!

I just got home from grocery shopping and found something to be sort of funny butt if I had been working and the lady did this to me I would be pissed. I am walking up and down the isles (as I walk every isle every time because you never know when you will something you need that isn’t on your list) when I saw a lady frantically walking very fast towards a man that was stocking shelves. She ran up and asked where the tomato sauce was and he told her isle 4. I could hear every click/click of her shoes and then she runs back to the guy and asked where the pasta was located and he told her isle 6.

She repeated this two more times before she had exhausted the man into walking with her to get the stuff on her list. I chuckled at the time butt the more I think about it the more I get urinated off because she could walked down the isles looking for what she needed just like everyone else. Not to mention, the store I was in has just gone through a re-decorating and they put up new signs to tell you what is down each isle and the signs are at each end of the isles.

Any thing stewpid happen with you all?

Life at the Depot

Well, by the time I slept in till 10:30am and made breakfast it was noon! I then took a nap for an hour. I think I am finally awake enough to share a few things that have been going on in my world.

First, I had a Mexican for lunch on Wednesday and I brought home an order of chips and salsa. I just browned some hamburger meat and added it to the crock-pot with all the fixins for chili. NUMMY! The only time I get off the couch may be to get a bowl of chili…UMKAY?

My day job is still going fine. I have had a ton of meetings and feel like I haven’t been getting as much done as I should butt I am getting praises from the powers that be…we will see how this one holds up. So far? So good!

The depot is going well and where tons of stories have been taking place. I will share a couple now. There are five people that work in the paint department and three of us are gay. We have the older (not me by the way) gay guy that has been with his partner for 18 year next month, me being the middle aged guy and a young 23 year old whipper snapper.

The older guy cracks me up, as he is always getting into something funny. Last Saturday, he came to work with his forth cup of coffee in hand and it didn’t take butt about 30 minutes for the caffeine to kick in. The guy was up on the ladder flapping his arms to see if he could levitate…I still chuckle just thinking about it!

The younger guy reminds me of myself when I was in my 20s. He met a guy online from out of town and has traveled to visit him this weekend. I hope things go well for him. However, I really look up to him for knowledge of mixing paint as he has been with the Depot for a couple of years and is great at looking at a shade of color and being able to determine how to make it the color the customer wants…amazing!

I think I have finally trained everyone that when a man enters the department with salt-n-pepper hair they are to go NO WHERE near him before I approach him. A guy that reminds me so much of Anderson Cooper is a regular and came into the department last week and obviously had a couple of questions that someone needed to address. The younger guy in the department came and got me (I was facing product on another isle) so I could help the guy out. I answered all questions and he thanked me for all the help…about an hour later he came back because he said he “thought of a couple more questions”. We will have to see how this works out.

So, how are things going with yous guys?

WOO and HOO!

Well, what can I say? This time of year is going to be slow at the Depot and my time is going to be cut down until winter passes. The good news? I will have more time to spend over to the other place and around here on the blogs. I am looking forward to it and my first real day off will be this Saturday. I don’t know if I will get off the sofa cuz I will be watching football.

Today, the high was 80 degrees and tomorrow storms will pass through and the high on Thursday will be in the 50s. BRRRRRR!

I plan on giving a complete update on Saturday. See ya then!

Couple of updates

I really enjoy working at the Depot but a couple of interesting things have happened over the past couple of weeks and I thought I would share them with you all.

Saturday was an eventful day for everyone as we had a potential shoplifter! I left for lunch around 2pm and decided to go home and walk Kahlua. While I was gone a guy grabbed a small television and made a run for the door with it. The guy that was working in the paint department with me helped the security peeps chase the guy through the parking lot. They caught the guy and he was arrested. I came back to everyone buzzing around and explaining what happened while I was gone…I always miss the fun!

Another interesting thing that happened was a little uncomfortable and I didn’t really know how to handle it. I will be the first person to admit that I have not always been a good little boy and at times would have considered myself to have been a man whore when I was in my younger years. During college, I picked-up a guy at a local cruising place and we became fvck buddies (for the lack of a better term). After college we sort of fell out of touch with each other until last week…he, his wife and two kids showed up at the paint counter over at the Depot!

I looked up and realized who it was about the time he remembered me. There were some awkward moments butt we didn’t acknowledge knowing each other. I could tell by the look on his face that he was terrified that I was going to say something, however, I do know when to keep my mouth shut…so I mixed the paint and they went on there ways.

My day job is going great and I really like the peeps I work with…they love to eat! WOO and HOO!
